SITE OBJECTIVE The objective of this site is to tell the true
story of what happened, here in England, in those turbulent years of 1861
to 1865. How James Dunwoody Bulloch, at times almost singlehandedly,
provided the Confederate States with three of the most famous commerce
raiders in history. One of which, the CSS Alabama, became the most
succesful such raider of all time, her feats will surely never be equalled
or surpassed. Unfortunately there is now a tragic side to this story, Commander
Bulloch lies in a "foreign field" forgotten by most of his countrymen, yet
there are those who rightly say that this man earned the right to stand
alongside Robert E. Lee and Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson, in the Confederate
Hall Of Fame. |

James Dunwoody Bulloch CSN.
Did you know that during the years 1861 to 1865 approximately half a million English men, women and children, within 40 miles of Liverpool, were quite literally destitute and starving , as a direct result of the War Between The States?

Marilyn Cook of Louisiana and Annette Elam Wetzel of Richmond, I am forever in your debt dear friends, and you will both remain forever in my heart, Thank you, for everything. Roy Since the Commemoration, in January 2001, two other people have helped me tremendously with this site; they are, Bob Jones, a Liverpool historian, who is quite magnificent in his ferreting out of information. And
Penny McMillon, who works in Bulloch Hall in Roswell, GA.. Penny`s
enthusiam for the subject is so infectious, and I have to say, she is a
true inspiration to me. |
