Journal Of The CSS Alabama

On or just before 5 August 1862, the day that Raphael Semmes left Liverpool,
aboard the Bahama, on his way to take command of the Alabama, a "notebook" was purchased at

Thomas Walmsley, Stationers, 64 Castle Street, Liverpool, England.

This "notebook" was destined to become the

Journal of The Confederate States Steamer Alabama.

Reproduced here, with my most grateful thanks to the Historical Society of Pennsylvania,
and Dave Bryan, from the Cope collection are as follows.

N.B. Large files, may be slow to load.
